We did a restore but it wasn’t the right one. We now want to roll back. We still have all the old- directories that are created by the plugin, but what about the old database – does the script not make a backup of that before it does a restore? If not, surely it would be a good addition/idea?

    Hi,

There’s no automatic backup before a restore – to take one, use the “Backup Now” button in the main UpdraftPlus tab.

The moving of the existing directories out of the way isn’t strictly a backup – it’s just a convenience thing for quick recovery. There’s no concept in MySQL of “moving a database out of the way”, and hence there’s no analogue to this.

    Best wishes,
    David

Ah ok thanks for the quick reply. In terms of replicating the old- prefix on the old directories, could it do a dump and prefix that file with old- too? Obviously too late for us though ??
