Hello, I have auto backup to Google drive enabled on my site. The maximum backup retention is set to 7. But the old backups is still being displayed in plugin page and also in Google drive (currently last 12 backup is in Google drive instead of 7). Please let me know what are the info required to debug the issue.

    Hello,

It is advisable to verify the functionality of the website’s cron systems, as the plugin utilizes a cron job to remove outdated backups.

Cron is working fine. I have disabled the WordPress cron but an external cronjob runs every 15 mins. I also have auto update enabled for plugin and themes which works fine. If the external cron fails, i will get an alert.

The site health page is showing that the scheduled events are running correctly.

This has been happening for all of my client’s backups over the last month or so, but I only noticed it this week. It started happening most likely due to a plugin update sometime within the last 1-2 months. It is happening for local and remote backups (regardless of remote source) on over a dozen different websites I manage. Unfortunately its resulted in extra remote backup costs and now I have to remove old backups manually every day or so to prevent costs from racking up. Prior to this happening, the auto removal of old backups was not an issue. Our crons are running fine. This is definitely a bug. I look forward to this bug being resolved!!
