Old Back Up

  • I made a copy of my wordpress files before doing a complete re-install. I need to find the location of the posts and pages within the folders of old wordpress files so I can get them uploaded back to the working site.

    Where can I find them?

  • WordPress content is stored in the database, rather than in the files.

    So does that mean all the old content is gone? Sorry, I’m new to wordpress and it’s all very confusing. I have the files exactly as they were in my FTP, I copied and pasted them to my hard drive, did I lose all my old content?

    Unless you have a backup copy of the database, or your old hosting provider still has one, the content is lost.
