Old and new themes are mixed

  • Current theme wasn’t doing it so I bought one.

    I installed it and clicked the Preview. I wanted to see all the features, bells and whistles that I paid for.

    Instead, the new theme appears to be trying to migrate content from the old theme. Menu items in the purchased theme have been replaced by whatever I had in the old one. Features in the new are not there, presumably because they didn’t exist in the old?

    I didn’t Publish because I don’t want customers to see what kind of mess I’m in – how do I get out of it?

    Is there some way to purge (delete) everything except WordPress and then install my new theme?
