• I’ve spent three days trying to get this installed on IIS 4.0, with no luck. Good luck to everyone. I’ll check back in a few months to see if these IIS install problems are worked out.
I know, I know. Open source this, open source that. I actually have MACS and PCs, with the Gates stuff being outsourced to India.
You have a fine blog system here with WordPress. I just wish I could use it.

  • Mark,
Sorry that you haven’t had success with IIS and WordPress. I can certainly appreciate the level of frustration you must be feeling. I hope that you check back often, and maybe somebody will nail this down. Perhaps you yourself may come across the solution.
    Hope to see you around,
    Craig.

What version of Windows uses IIS 4.0? I think my XP box has IIS 6.0 (which is working fine w/ WordPress).

IIS 4? Thats strange, way back when I had Win 2000, that came with IIS 5…

IIRC, IIS 4.0 dates back into WinNT 4 times? So it’s kinda stone-aged, I guess…

that won’t help him, will it?
were there any error messages that might give us a clue why it failed?

I believe he was getting “It looks like you haven’t installed WP yet” errors… he posted in the other IIS thread… and yeah, that was with NT4. I guess eventually we’ll want to support all platforms everywhere, but I’m thinking NT4/IIS4 is probably low in the priority list (since not even MICROSOFT supports NT4 anymore :))

    No worky for me either… I’ve got Windows XP Pro / IIS5.1 / PHP 4.3.4.4 / MySql 4.?
(for clarification win 2003 server has IIS 6)
however, I also get a bunch of UNDEFINED errors? perhaps not the same _exact_ problem, but I’m running quite a few other open source projects without problems.

Did you check the other IIS thread? I think people were having a decent amount of success over there.

Hope this OK, but here is a dump of a pretty clean install of WP. I installed it on my PHP site and then copied the SQL with a few changes to another site (IIS) and it seems to be running fairly well. Do a search for *** and put your info in there. The admin password for this is 3b8132. Good luck and I hope this is cleaned up before it runs too many people off.

Good luck. I don’t know how long it’ll be available, but it should get you started.
