I have a handful of failed orders where a customer tried to order something but their credit card issuer declined the charge for some reason. I’ve kept the orders around in case the customer returned and tried again. But quite a while has now passed and they haven’t retried their orders. Is there any reason not to just move those failed orders to the trash?

    Hi @earmsbyhpc ,

I understand that you have several failed orders from a customer and would like to know if you can delete these, is this correct?

Kindly note that failed orders automatically move to the trash folder after 30 days, however if you would like to manually move the failed orders to the trash folder, you can do so ??</img>

Just to add – There is a built-in function of WooCommerce core, that allows you to trash canceled and failed orders in the time frame you select. This can be achieved by navigating to WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy > Personal data retention, as seen in the screenshot below:

Hope this helps, and please let us know if you have any other questions!

That’s odd then. One of the orders in my system that has a status of failed is quite a bit older than 30 days. I’ll check into the settings you referenced and make changes accordingly.

It’s possible that there may have been a misconfiguration in the settings however the steps previously shared should help you out with this ??

I’m going to go ahead and mark this as resolved, however, please feel free to create a new topic should you need any further help.
