    Greetings,

I need to add some PayPal buttons to a few posts and pages and have simply pasted the code generated by PayPal straight into the page editor–HTML mode. All seems to work fine. My question is why is there so much talk about needing a plugin? Am I missing something?

Test page with a button installed:

Thanks very much for any info you can share!

  • Not everybody knows how to copy/paste I guess ??

Nothing wrong with the way you did it.

    This is good news!

I wonder if plugins are needed if doing a shopping cart or full-blown e-commerce set up?

Yeah, seems to me the copy/paste works okay.

why is there so much talk about needing a plugin?

    1. Those who are selling more than a handful of products may be looking for extra functionality within the WP Admin area to handle their orders – hence ecommerce plugins.

    2. Not everyone is completely comfortable with HTML – even when it’s only copy’n’paste. Many prefer to use the Visual Editor.

I am feeling reassured that using the simple copy/paste will be okay.

    Thanks for your info!
