    Hi,

    1) To save space on my server (which is hosted so I pay per Gb of storage used), after I generate package and download the package and installer to my local drive, is it ok to delete from the server?

    2) If I ever wanted to have this deletedpackage show up again on my list of packages created, is there a way to do so? It looks like the zip file unpacked is structured slightly differently than the files in the dup folder.

    Thanks.

    1. Yes, you can delete the package to save space.

    2. No, once you delete it from the server it’s gone, however, you can always copy the package to another location if you want.

    Thanks~

Got it. So when you say “it’s gone,” you only mean from the list of packages under the Duplicator settings page, correct? My local copy (zip file plus installer file) is the same from what I deleted?

    Thanks.

    Hey @lychee128,

When you delete a package(s) from the UI Packages interface, it should also remove it from the storage folder ” backups-dup-lite” on your host. The package and installer file you use to install a new site should be removed after you run and install.

    Hope that helps~

Thanks for your reply and sorry if I wasn’t clear.

What I meant was that if I delete a package from my hosted WordPress server (after downloading to my local computer) using the Duplicator plugin menu, my understanding from your previous reply is that there’s no way to import the packages back into my site so that the packages show up on the package list again.

As a result, I wanted to confirm that my local copy (zip and installer) is the same content as what is unzipped in the dup-folder (prior to deletion).

    Thanks.

    Hey @lychee128,

There is no option to remove anything from “Duplicator plugin Menu”. The only places to remove the installer and archive are from the packages screen. Also when you copy the installer and archive to the new host and run the installer on step 4 you have the option to delete the installer and archive that you just installed (which is recommended) or you can delete it from the tool section. Also, The data that is in the zip archive is the same as the dup-installer.

    Hope this helps~

Yes, I meant “packages screen above.” As long as whatever I’m downloading includes everything so I can always reinstall later, I’m all set.

    Thanks

Sounds good! Thxs for the update.
