• This looked promising as a way to have some content (of our personal family site) public but the majority not, but that’s all it did was “look promising”. It doesn’t seem to have the features of enabling pages or posts to be excluded from the login requirement. Yes I saw the very brief FAQ, but again that didn’t actually explain. I read over the PHP and didn’t see how to get exclusions to work. There is no documentation either. I’m not new to WP but I’m not an expert who writes plugins or themes, so I need instructions that don’t act like I do or act like I knew the answer already. Also, why do the key features need to be answered in the FAQ about hopefully proving they actually exist? Seems to me like that should be visible and available by default. I haven’t just one starred it because I prefer to get help first, but wow this plugin is limited for early WP experience.

Hi– thanks for trying Force Login!

You’re correct, this plugin is very limited.

Force Login is a simple lightweight plugin that requires visitors to log in to interact with the website. That’s all it does. You can either activate it to force visitors to login, or deactivate it to turn it off.

Any customization (exclusion of pages or posts) will need to be done through the developer hooks outlined in the FAQs.

I can understand how the Force Login FAQ can be confusing to non-developers, but this plugin was built for a simple purpose and the FAQ is geared toward WP developers who are comfortable with writing code.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know. I’m here to help!

    Thanks!
