• We don’t like leaving poor reviews, in fact we’ve never left a negative review before but given our experience with Rookie we feel it’s justified.

As a theme it is ok and it integrates reasonably well with Sportspress from the same authors but there are a lot of issues:
    – the menu system doesn’t work as it should on touch screen devices
    – the hamburger menu shows inconsistently
    – the sidebar displays inconsistently across devices
    – the video section on match reports displays incorrectly
    – there are a whole host of formatting issues regards responsive display

Most of these should be solved by simple CSS changes.

Where Rookie really fails though is in its support which is basically non-existent. Threads on this forum remain unanswered after weeks. We emailed pre-sales about Rookie Plus, had a response, but none of our follow up emails (sent on May 1st, 8th, 14th and 28th) have been replied to.

We were considering upgrading to Rookie Plus but it’s just not worth the risk if the support is so poor.

    Sorry.

@theangryduck Thank you for your review. I totally agree that the forums for Rookie tend to get overlooked as most of our attention goes to the SportsPress forums and premium support where there are usually a lot more topics to answer.

That said, we will definitely aim to give the Rookie forums a bit more love in the future. Appreciate your honesty and patience as we do our best to support as many folks as possible.

Regarding the issues you mentioned, I’ll be looking into these as well and address them in the next update.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience with us.
