On the Twitter Options page, after clicking the “Login and get my Access Tokens” button, I enter my twitter account name and password. I “authorize”. I seem to get logged into twitter successfully. Then it goes back to the Twitter Options page. The two token fields have been filled in, but below that there is a pink warning box reading:

Oh No, something’s wrong. Bad Authentication data. You may have entered in the Access information incorrectly please re-enter and try again.

The shortcode then does not create a working feed.

What does that mean, and what can I do to resolve the problem?

When I refreshed the Twitter Option page today, I now have a different error notice in the pink box:

    Oh No, something’s wrong.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /[path to wordpress installation]/wp-content/plugins/feed-them-social/admin/class-fts-twitter-options-page.php on line 236

I’ve tried following the instructions here but they do not correspond to the current WordPress plugin configuration page:

Try clicking the button to get a new token and see if you get a success message. Also make sure you are using the latest version 2.7.2

    Yes, using 2.7.2

After reclicking today, I did get a success message. Still curious why that didn’t work yesterday though. Any guesses you could make?

In the meantime, before I got your success message, I did go into the Twitter developer area and got their embed code for “Embedding tweets on a website”. That couldn’t have made the difference, could it?

Now I’m a little gun-shy about using your shortcode instead of using Twitter’s own embed code. I like the fact that your plugin’s code allows my Twitter feed and Facebook feed to match visually. And I like the fact that you keep up w/ their changing requirements so I don’t need to. (And the rest of your features.)

Any guesses about what was going wrong yesterday would be appreciated! Thanks.

    Thanks.

    Hey @hommealone,
We are hitting 100,000 calls in a 24hour period for our twitter app. We are in direct contact with Twitter’s development team and an agent currently to get our “Rate Limits” how many times all the users connected to the application can make calls to their system to get information. When it goes down it only goes down for a little while then comes back up.

Hopefully this will be resolved within the next few days.

    Thanks,
    Justin
