    I am so frustrated with the ability to not be able to share to Facebook properly. I downloaded this plugin thinking it would resolve it, but still no dice.

    I get the following error

    The ‘og:type’ property is required, but not present.

    and the following warning

    The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    I have tried a couple of different SEO plugins, but right now nothing activated. I don’t need SEO since my blog is just a family site and not even listed in Google. When I did try an SEO plugin, shortly after I ended up with thousands of spam comments (not sure if related)

    I would like to link our blog posts to Facebook, and when it just shows a link without the title of the post nor any images, it’s useless.

    Any help?

    I don’t know the specific issue at play here but if you’re having problems with Facebook and proper info… it’s because FB has changed the way they display info within the last month or so. With my plugin or others like WPSEO, you can use FB’s debugger to see the raw data they scrape is correct… but they display other stuff. Drives me nuts… and right now.. .there’s nothing I can do about it because FB does what they want.
    I’ve waited for them to update docs but they haven’t. Until then – we plugin guys serve up the OG tags the way the protocol says to.
    Linkedin and twitter still pulls fine as they obey the OG tags… FB changed.. they’re always testing stuff so idk. Sorry tho.. I know it’s frustrating… happens with my own biz and personal stuff too now.

    Thanks for the reply, the information I provided was from the debugger. I was wondering if there was some sort of setting that I might need to change within the plugin. Do I need a SEO plugin for your plugin to work?

    I also forgot to add the link a specific blog post..

    SEO plugins typically help but the way the plugin works w/o one is dependant on the way the theme is built.

    Looking at that link – you’re using this plugin “ngfb meta tags” not mine.

    Sorry about that. I just switched after my last reply. I am going through plug-ins like crazy trying to fix it. So you think it could be the theme? I do have an old one.

    well this is what your plugin is outputting

    <!-- ngfb meta tags begin -->
    <meta name="generator" content="NGFB 7.6.2G" />
    <meta itemprop="description" content="It was just under a year ago when we last went to Kristy&rsquo;s Barn. Funny thing this time around.....As we parked our car, the Michael&rsquo;s just so happened to be pulling in at the same time. Great minds think alike. Unfortunately there were no apples to be picked, but we... #2014 #kristy'sbarn" />
    <meta property="og:locale" content="en_US" />
    <meta property="og:site_name" content="The Nazarian Family Blog" />
    <meta property="og:url" content="https://thenazarians.com/?p=2899" />
    <meta property="og:title" content="Fun at Kristy&rsquo;s Barn with the Michaels" />
    <meta property="og:description" content="It was just under a year ago when we last went to Kristy&rsquo;s Barn. Funny thing this time around.....As we parked our car, the Michael&rsquo;s just so happened to be pulling in at the same time. Great minds think alike. Unfortunately there were no apples to be picked, but we... #2014 #kristy'sbarn" />
    <meta property="og:type" content="article" />
    <!-- article:tag:1 --><meta property="article:tag" content="2014" />
    <!-- article:tag:2 --><meta property="article:tag" content="kristy's barn" />
    <meta property="article:published_time" content="2014-09-27T16:32:50+00:00" />
    <meta property="article:modified_time" content="2014-09-27T16:32:50+00:00" />
    <!-- og:image:1 --><meta property="og:image" content="https://thenazarians.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/IMG_20140927_123346347_HDR-800x800.jpg" />
    <!-- og:image:1 --><meta property="og:image:height" content="800" />
    <!-- og:image:1 --><meta property="og:image:width" content="800" />
    <!-- ngfb meta tags end -->

    That should be correct but I think your biggest problem is that your site loads VERY slow. I’m testing it with FB’s debugger and it’s timing out. So that’s probably most of your problem.
    The error from debugger is “Curl Error : OPERATION_TIMEOUTED Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”

    Fix that then try and solve proper meta issue.

    Thanks a million. I just changed themes and the site is loading much faster and after the debugger, Facebook is sharing properly!!

    I sill have one issue left and that is that Facebook isn’t seeing all the images in each individual post. When sharing, I used to be able select which image I want to use by clicking the right or left arrow. It’s also cropping the image that it does choose, but that’s another issue.

    Is there anything I can do to get Facebook to see all the images? If not, how do I know which image will be the chosen one?

    Yeah again Facebook has been doing what it wants lately. Regardless of what the tags are – FB just displays what it wants. Nothing I can do about it – they’re doing their own thing. That’s Facebook for you.
