    Hi!

    I’m having trouble setting up my Open Graph settings. I’ve not changed a single setting in the Social Settings, but for some reason the og:title:alt is set (If we must believe Facebook’s Debugger. I read in your documentation that the og:title:alt is not supported anymore since 2019. When I view my page source code I also can’t find og:title:alt in the Yoast section of the code.

    Meanwhile Facebook keeps telling me that the og:title:alt is set to ‘Werkplek onderzoek’, which is a service that we provide on my website. See: https://defittemedewerker.nl/werkplek-onderzoek/.

    When I go through Facebook’s Debugger the following error pops up: The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

    I haven’t set up a default image that should be used in case Facebook can’t grab an image from one of my pages. I also haven’t set up a specific image in the Yoast settings on a specific page. I wan’t Yoast to just grab my Featured Image and used that as the og:image.

    I’ve got no clue how to proceed. The og:image isn’t even showing in my source code.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @2youmarketing

    Thanks for reaching out about your Open Graph tags. If I understand correctly, you want the Yoast SEO plugin to pick the featured image as the og:image but that’s not happening. On viewing the page source of https://defittemedewerker.nl/verbindend-communiceren/, I can confirm there is no og:image defined.

    However, in the FB debugger, this image is being pulled as og:imagehttps://defittemedewerker.nl/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Werkplekonderzoek1-scaled-e1613858574616.jpeg

    Can you by chance trace where you uploaded this to on the page?

    Hi Maybellyne,

    The problem is: I’ve not uploaded any image to those pages. The image you can see on those pages are dynamically displaying the Featured Image. I’ve checked all the Yoast SEO settings, there is no image selected to show when a URL is shared on Facebook.

    I’ve got no clue where Facebook is sourcing this image from, it’s also not in my Theme settings (Thrive Theme Builder).

    So sadly, no, I can’t trace where the images is coming from. It’s weird that it’s not just selecting the Featured images as primary image.

    Hi @2youmarketing,

    I’ve checked the source code of the page and noticed the following code.

    <div class="tve_shortcode_rendered">
                    <div style="display:none">
                      <div class="facetwp-template" data-name="diensten">
                        <div class="fwpl-layout el-2f94o8">
                          <div class="fwpl-result r1">
                            <div class="fwpl-row el-klhbsw">
                              <div class="fwpl-col fwpl-col el-59tiya">
                                <div class="fwpl-item el-nl9ihm">
                                  <a href="https://defittemedewerker.nl/werkplek-onderzoek/">
                                    <img width="768" height="405" src="https://defittemedewerker.nl/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Werkplekonderzoek1-scaled-e1613858574616.jpeg" class="attachment-medium_large size-medium_large wp-post-image" alt="Werkplek onderzoek" loading="lazy" />
                                  </a>
                                </div>

    It seems that the image is outputted by the FacetWP plugin or your theme.

    Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

    Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

    If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

    If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
