    Hi there,

    All the new posts that I make are not shared correctly on Facebook. For example:
    https://daily.otherperspectives.me/what-every-boy-needs-from-his-mother/

    I have just created this post, and the og:image and canonical are not fetched by Facebook. I checked the Page Source, and these two meta tags are available, but Facebook is not fetching them. ( One post had similar behavior, but after 24-48 hours, the image and the correct canonical were fetched. )

    What could be the issue?

    Only new posts seem to have this issue.

    These are the errors from Sharing Debugger:

    Inferred Property – The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    Missing Properties – The following required properties are missing: og:image, fb:app_id
    Circular Redirect – We could not resolve the canonical URL because the redirect path contained a cycle.

    Hello Otherperspectives,

    Thanks for reaching out regarding your og:image and canonical URL. Using https://daily.otherperspectives.me/what-every-boy-needs-from-his-mother/ as an example, the canonical URL is:

    <link rel=canonical href=”https://daily.otherperspectives.me/?p=5284″&gt;

    Is this intentional? Did you set a custom canonical URL for that post?

    Regarding the og:image, we are not sure any appears in the page source. Can you walk us through how this was defined for that post?

    We look forward to hearing from you.

    Yes, you are right. If I use an incognito page, the og:image and canonical URL do not show up. But, on the browser where I created the post, there is the correct image and canonical URL.

    The OG:Image usually is taken as the featured image, but I also set it up using the Social Tab of Yoast’s plugin to make sure the image is taken.

    What could cause the issue?
    This is the wrong canonical:
    <link rel=canonical href=”https://daily.otherperspectives.me/?p=5284″>

    It should be:
    https://daily.otherperspectives.me/what-every-boy-needs-from-his-mother/

    Thanks for following up with us. You identified multiple queries that you want us to address and we’ll address them in order:

    Wrong canonical URL
    We looked at the relevant page’s source code and can confirm the canonical URL and og:url meta tags are the default permalinks which aren’t expected. We recommend you please reset the Yoast SEO Indexables tables and migrations to see whether this resolves the issue for you:

    • Install and activate Yoast Test Helper plugin;
    • Go to Tools → Yoast Test → Yoast SEO → Reset indexables tables & migrations options to reset it;
    • Run SEO data optimization from the SEO → Tools page.

    Missing og:image meta
    We looked at the relevant page and see that there’s no og:image meta tag generated by Yoast SEO which is very odd. If you have selected an image to the relevant page using the Yoast SEO → Social → Facebook (tab), we’d like you to please perform a conflict check first. This is will help us to identify the exact cause of the issue.

    The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

    Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

    If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts
