    Hello @holtmarketing,

Thanks for reaching out about your canonical URL.

Please edit the homepage to check if the canonical URL field in the advanced tab of the Yoast SEO metabox has a value. By default, it shouldn’t, as the Yoast SEO plugin uses self-referencing canonical URL. This means it uses the page URL as the canonical URL.

If the field is blank but you still have the wrong canonical URL, it could be that the previously optimized data is likely invalid or incomplete. I’ll recommend a reset of the optimization to ensure any invalid data is removed.

    1. Install & activate the?Yoast Test Helper plugin
    2. Go to Tools > Yoast Test
    3. Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations’, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation’, and ‘Reset Internal link counter’ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
    4. Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.

Please let us know if the reported issue remains after resetting the optimized data.

    Helle Kevin,

Thanks for the feedback. And I’m sorry about the critical error. Have you been able to resolve that too? Do you have access to your error log to see if there’s anything in there relating to the Yoast SEO plugin?

    Hello @holtmarketing

Did the critical error impact your site functionality in any way? Usually, to resolve that WordPress database error, I’ll recommend resetting the indexables table and migrations again. Not to worry, resetting doesn’t delete your existing SEO settings

    The site seems fine thanks.
