I’ve updated new meta data within the yoast section of the article, but the og tags are not updating within wordpress to the live page. This is not the usual facebook debugger problem. I mean, when you check the source code on the website, the og tags are the old ones, not the updated ones.

    I have:

*Flushed the cache plugin (but, as the article content updates but the ig tags don’t I can’t understand why it would be a cache issue.)
    * I deactivated and reactivated yoast plugin (plus it is updated to the latest version)
    * Deactivated other plugins in case a conflict was the issue

The og:image is set in yoast as: https://expathub.ge/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Annual-Filing-social-ad.jpg

But, in the source code of the public article, we have this
    <meta property="og:image" content="https://expathub.ge/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Annual-Tax-Fil-Social.jpg" />

I’ve made multiple updates to article in the past without issue, plugin configuration is the same. Only difference is we moved to a new server. Not sure what could have caused a problem by doing so as we have no other cache issues.

What are the possible problems here?

@5dt Just to clarify, you’ve confirmed that information in the article will update, but that the Open Graph image is not, correct?

If that is the case, have you tried changing the image to use another to see whether the problem is related to the image itself?

    Thanks for the reply.
Tested with a different image. No effect.
Tested updating meta description (just for the facebook desc, not the SEO one) – no effect.

What is updating every time I save the page is property=”article:modified_time”

of course, that is not a part of the user defined Yoast fields, so I assume is separate from changes I make to the yoast boxes.

    Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for your clarification. This is very odd as the og:image meta isn’t updating for you. Have you tried performing the conflict check by switching to the default 2021 theme? If not, we recommend you please perform a full conflict check to see whether this resolves the issue for you. You can find the step by step conflict check guide here https://yoast.com/help/how-to-check-for-plugin-conflicts/.

I’ve had the same issues at themusicuniverse.com. Open graph will not either pull article information or it pulls it with a black or blank image (same thing on Twitter). This has started happening this week and when I opened up my own thread about this, I was told it was a server issue (which I confirmed isn’t). I’ve deactivated every plugin, etc. I feel like it’s an issue within Yoast itself.

@atolmaprod According to the forum guidelines, you’ll need to open a new topic instead of replying to an existing post. That way, it’s easier to track issues and provide assistance without alerting someone else for your problems and debugging, when they don’t need it.

I used the health checker plugin (no change)
So I followed the instructions which suggested a bug report was necessary if all plugins disabled and 2020 theme activated… and the Github report was closed within minutes of me posting it as it is not reproducible.
    https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/16631

Can you please advise what is my next step for fixing this issue?
    Thanks

@5dt Thanks for your reply. Due to the nature of the issue, we’d need to take a look at your setup to see what’s going on there. However, we are unable to do so here since this is a public forum. However, you may consider purchasing Yoast SEO Premium that will grant you access to our premium support where our support engineers can investigate the further for you and offer support through emails privately.

    Thanks for your understanding!
