    Howdy,

Even in the last update was mentioned, that problem with OG meta was solved, I have still problem with meta description in Social media. Even I changed my SEO plugin (to Yoast) when I copy a event link to Facebook or Buffer, there is always this crazy code. I am really desperate how to solve this issue.

Can you tell me, where this OG meta is defined? How can I delete it?

  • Hi majokan,

I was able to see the description with coding when sharing events from your site. However, I was not able to replicate the issue while testing our latest version of the Calendar events.

Can you disable your Yoast plugin for now so we can further test it?

Also be sure to get Facebook to rescrape your website after disabling Yoast by submitting your site’s URL here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

    Hello,

This problem is not connected to Yoast. The same meta description has event with previous SEO Plugin (All in one SEO) and also when I de-activate all SEO plugins (already tested).

Also it is not due to used theme (I had the same issue with theme which I had before)

    Hello @majokan,

Did you do a manual upgrade with the last release? There is a new release scheduled for release today also (March 27, 2017).

I recommend a manual upgrade to fix the issue. Please follow these steps:

    – Backup your current events by scrolling down to the bottom of your calendar and click on the [Subscribe] button, then click on “Add tovTimely Calendar” and download the events file (download.ics).
    – Delete the file uninstall.php from the plugin directory that is currently on the server (found under /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar). Deleting this file ensures that when you uninstall the current version of the plugin, your event data and calendar settings will be preserved when you delete the plugin (don’t skip this step – it’s important!)
    – Deactivate the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Delete the All-in-One Event Calendar using your WordPress Dashboard.
    – Database -> wp_options, click option_name to sort and delete everything with ai1ec_, this will delete plugin settings but events will remain in the database.
    – Now install the latest version.
