OG mapping with Facbook

  • Hi,
    I have the enterprise level MicroBlogPoster

    When I have microblog post the {url} to facebook is there a way to have it so facebook grabs the OG information? Right now, microblog just posts the url to facebook and it appears on my facebook page as a url. But if I were to take same URL and post it to facebook manually, facebook would use the OG information to populate an image, description and title. I’d like this to happen from Microblog. Any solutions?

    Hi,
    I think that when setting up your facebook account under MicroblogPoster, for ‘Post Type’ you’ve checked ‘Text’. That’s why you only have the url posted.
    Please check the post type ‘Share a Link’. Along with the url that should post the post excerpt and the post image.
    Currently MicroblogPoster doesn’t allow only posting the url to facebook and then letting facebook grab the rest via OG.

    Thanks for your help. Changing the post type worked out for the most part. At least now the featured image and the first x amount of characters shows on facebook rather than just the URL. Still not using the OG info on the page, but better than nothing.
