We are trying to investigate if we can use WP for schools that do not have internet access in Africa. We use Raspberry Pis, which serve up the WP site and tablets for the students to access the WP site on the Pi. We are looking to give the local school admin the ability to “synch” up the site when they have internet access. Student records would be uploaded to a master site and the remote site on the Pi would receive updated content. Does your product offer this capability?

    Hi @webolution ,

Sensei LMS is fully web-based. Therefore, offline access would not work in this case. An active internet connection to your site would be required for Sensei LMS to work.

Thank you for your response. Are you aware of any possible alternatives so we can get education into the hands of those that need it most?

    Hello @webolution,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you; we asked our developers’ opinion on this to figure out any possible alternatives.

Something that could help would be to cache the content when the users are online — this would allow them access later while being offline. There are some related resources on the matter that you may want to check out, but please keep in mind that anything included in te links below are most likely way beyond the scope of our support:

As for any progress in the courses, and so on while offline, this would NOT work because we don’t have this feature implemented at the moment.

Another approach you may want to consider could be working with a local server for the users, with some kind of database sync when they’re online.
Keep in mind that this option might need some resources we don’t know if you have access to.

    Hope that answers your question!
