After several WEEKS I put this site on Yoast SEO, when searching by institution name “instituto educacional duque de caxias” in Google, the site starts to appear only from PAGE 6 of Google…
As I said, it’s already been WEEKS.
I’ve used everything I could within Yoast SEO, but apparently, it hasn’t made any difference to leverage this site, even though it’s the OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE INSTITUTION.
    What could be happening?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I can see it at the bottom of page 2.

But installing Yoast SEO alone does not bring your website automatically a top ranking. It’s only there to make sure your site and its pages meet all the requirements for a good ranking.

You have strong competitors on that keyword like LinkedIn, Instagram and a lot of directories, it seems.

It will surely take more than a couple of weeks until Google recognizes your website as a greater authority for the given keyword(s) and display it further up in the SERPs.

    Hope I could help.

    Hello @rogeriodec,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your site ranking.

Using Yoast SEO (or Yoast SEO Premium) does not guarantee high rankings and traffic for your site because Google Rankings depend on?a lot of different factors. Issues that determine rankings include server load, page speed, cache configuration, mobile versions, responsiveness, the site’s content, all of which fall outside of the plugin’s scope.

Having said that, in order to get?more organic?traffic and higher rankings in the search results, the main thing is to optimize your content. Please refer to this?definitive guide?and consider the following:

    • Have you submitted your website to the Google search console? If not, please submit your website to the Google search console first by following the steps given in this guide.
    • Have you submitted the sitemap to the Google search console? If not, please submit your sitemap to your Google search console by following the steps given in this guide.
    • Optimize your content against the focus keyphrases by following this guide.
    • Write the perfect SEO title for your posts and pages by following the steps given in this guide.
    • Write clean and meaningful meta description of your pages and posts by following the steps given in this guide.
    • Optimize the content by using the advanced content analysis feature provided by the Yoast SEO plugin by following the steps given in this guide.

If you’re looking for SEO advice tailored to your website, we strongly recommend you to find a local SEO consultancy company via Google. The good ones should rank first.

Have you submitted your website to the Google search console?

    Yes

Have you submitted the sitemap to the Google search console?

    Yes

Optimize your content against the focus keyphrases by following

    I did my best

Write the perfect SEO title for your posts and pages

I haven’t paid that much attention to it, but I don’t think it’s the cause of the so low ranking in the search.

Write clean and meaningful meta description of your pages and posts

    Same as above

Optimize the content by using the advanced content analysis feature provided by the Yoast SEO plugin

It’s really hard to get all the “smiley green faces”…

I did much less than all of the above for several other sites and got the #1 ranking.
For this site, however, I’ve already had a lot more effort than for all the others, even so, I’m not having success.
Maybe it’s a matter of giving Google more time…

    Hi @rogeriodec

We understand you’ve taken the steps to have your website rank better in the search results. However, as mentioned, there are lots of different ranking factors to take into consideration. It doesn’t mean installing the Yoast SEO plugin will guarantee increases in ranking or traffic for your website.

What we advocate is holistic SEO. You’ll need to continue to optimize your website and write great content – https://yoast.com/holistic-seo/

One other factor also involves the chosen keyword or search term used. It’s definitely possible that many (larger) websites are trying to rank for the same search term used. We recommend also to perform the necessary keyword research, so you’ll know which keywords to use and how to craft great content based on those keyphrases – https://yoast.com/keyword-research-ultimate-guide/

We wish you the best of luck in further optimizing your site!

Well, that’s interesting: searching in Bing for “instituto educacional duque de caxias”, the website the FIRST top choice.
However, searching the same in Google is still out of view…

    Hi,

Google and Bing, as well as other search engines, would have different ranking factors and algorithms to determine what to actually display on the first page of the search results for any given search term or keyphrase.

We can only advise that you continue to create great content with your chosen focus keyphrases, and as your website continues to gain domain authority, among other factors, it should help increase the ranking and traffic.
