All office documents were adding a – to file extensions. After updating the plugin it is now adding ‘ to every Microsoft extension. How can we get this resolved?

    Hello,

What web browser are you using? If it is Google Chrome, could you try another web browser and let me know what happens.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I am going to assume that you mean the problem is occurring is Google Chrome. Is it happening in IE 10 and Safari? i.e. If you upload a file in IE 10 then try to download the file, is it happening?

    Thanks!

Yes, you are correct. When I upload a file in IE 10 then download the file it comes up with an apostrophe at the end of the file extension. It was happening before with a minus sign. The update fixed that but now it has the apostrophe.

    Hello,

Try as I might, I cannot duplicate this problem in test. To compound the problem, this does not happen with all browsers and appears to be a “feature” added to some versions of browsers. I have found some “hints” posted on the internet that suggest this is due to additional “characters” such as a space or quotation mark at the end of a filename.

Therefore, on the next release, I am going to add code to strip any non alpha-numeric character from the end of a filename.

    Best Regards,

    Brian

    Hello,

The additional characters, at the end of the file name, are not added by the user. I believe the browser may be adding them.

    Hello,

I just uploaded version 1.12 and it should fix the problem. I added code to strip any non alpha-numeric characters from the end of filenames.

Please let me know if this fixes the problem and I’ll mark this as resolved.

    Best Regards,

    Brian
