• I run Ultimate Member with Chatroll and SSO. Prior to the second-to-last upgrade, my chatroll moderators could be easily identified by their ‘cloaks’, aka the background and text color of their user name, which was applied with CSS on the Chatroll side. While they retained their rights after the upgrade, many of them lost their colors. This made it harder for users to identify them, especially during a very fast-moving chat.

After some testing, I finally determined that their user profiles now need to have a website address under ‘user contact info’ in WordPress. This is a simple enough fix, but still surprising given that it wasn’t an issue until the second-to-last upgrade.

I’ve also had problems removing a couple of roles left by plugins that I removed. For example, I checked out a plugin called ‘Joy of Text’. I created an associated UM role and a couple of users for it, tested it, and decided I didn’t want it. However, I can’t get rid of the role in UM. If anyone has any feedback on that, please let me know.

  • The only thing off your list there that I can probably help you debug is getting rid of that role. What happens when you try to get rid of it? Does it cause an error? Does it just go through the motions like it’s getting rid of it but then it’s still there?

I apologize for getting back to you so late – I’m working out of town right now, so more remote than usual! When I go into ‘User Roles’, two users give me an edit option, but no delete option. Digging a little more, I’m thinking that these are wordpress user roles and not applied through UM.
