Odd problem in IE

Hi folks…who’s surprised that I’m having compatibility problems in IE 8?! Anyone? No?

All right, my website is https://www.callanishband.com. I just uploaded the offline version of the site and got it working in what I thought was record time. Checked it in Chrome, checked it in Firefox…so far so good.

Then I checked it in IE. There’s a big black band right under the header image, where it should be seamless white! But not on every page. Just on the Home page, and the News page. It’s also changed the color of a few links, but I can probably figure that one out…the black band, however, has me stumped. Any ideas?
