• I’m running into an odd bug. I setup SimpleTopCommenters widget:
    Define Commenters by: Email
Commenters to Exclude: Hobble Cat, Walter Jeffries, Anonymous, Jessie, Jay Shaheen
    #: 25
    Show “comments” Label: Off

In my sidebar at the top it displays a mysterious extra person with a very high count. Here is a screenshot showing both the settings and the results where the extra person is:

    Sara Hinmann: 3987

When I check in comments in the WP dashboard I see that Sara Hinmann only has one comment. So, I add her to the list of commenters to exclude like I’ve done with the others and then a new one pops up as being strangely high number.

For a live action version go to this link and look down in the right sidebar:

This appears to be a bug. Please let me know if I can provide any more information you might need to squash it.

Thank you for the plugin. I hope you can fix it as it looks quite good.

Update: Switching from Email to Name on the “Define Commenters by” variable makes it work properly (no more absurdly high random person) but you still might want to check on the bug. I looked at the people who were showing up randomly as the super commenters and think I might have found a pattern. All of them were “@blogger.com”. That might be a clue or a coincidence.
