OceanWP child theme

  • Hello everyone,

    I’ve been using Serafino’s Child Theme Generator for the OceanWP child theme and it worked perfectly so far. Unfortunately it seems that the plugin hasn’t been updated since 5.6.4 WP version. I do hope he will carry on with the updates eventually, but if, for some reasons, he won’t be able to, is there another OceanWP child theme that you recommend. And is it possible to import the settings from the current child theme to the new one to keep the website display as it is now?

  • Hello @cezarina,

    You can use the official OceanWP Child Theme.

    If you have any custom PHP codes in the old child theme, just remember to copy/paste them into the functions.php file of the “new” child theme.

    Find the download link from GitHub and explanations on how to import Customizer settings from the current theme (even if a child theme) here: https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/90-sample-child-theme

    Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Serafino updated the plugin and everything is in order for the time being. Good to know there is an alternative in case of need.
