I see nothing in settings about the Obscure features. If it changes the URLs and renames the admin account how do I know what the new settings are?

    Obscure
iThemes Security hides common WordPress security vulnerabilities, preventing attackers from learning too much about your site and away from sensitive areas like your site’s login, admin, etc.

Changes the URLs for WordPress dashboard areas including login, admin and more
Completely turns off the ability to login for a given time period (away mode)
Removes theme, plugin, and core update notifications from users who do not have permission to update them
Removes Windows Live Write header information
    Removes RSD header information
    Renames “admin” account
Changes the ID on the user with ID 1
Changes the WordPress database table prefix
    Changes wp-content path
    Removes login error messages

These words are badly chosen as they make it look like the plugin does these things for you. But that is not the case.

At least not for the 2 features you mentioned.
“changes the URLs” = Hide Backend
“renames the admin account” = Change Admin User

You need to enable and configure these iTSec plugin features yourself from within the WordPress Dashboard. So that way you’ll know what the new settings will be.

Set up a testing env and install the iTSec plugin and have a look at it.
It will make things much clearer.

The correct, short answer to my question is, the settings are in the ‘Advanced’ section which is a small little link in the upper right that can be easily missed by new users.

    The question was:

I see nothing in settings about the Obscure features. If it changes the URLs and renames the admin account how do I know what the new settings are?

In my perception you didn’t ask:

Where can I find the Hide Backend and Change Admin User settings ?

Anyway perception is everything … ??
