Obnoxious and OTT for a simple maintenance page

Crickey … this has to be one of the more obnoxious plug-ins I’ve installed on WordPress (which is saying something, having been a WP developer since it’s first year of release, and working with hundreds of plugins in that time). As soon as it’s activated Seedprod dives the user into submitting their email address and subscribing to a mail list. Yes, it’s optional, but rather in your face.
In my opinion the user experience is bad enough that I’m wasting precious time writing this review, with the aim of hopefully helping others avoid the noise and nonsense this plug-in imposes on its users.
I most certainly would NOT recommend this plug-in if all you want is a clean way to set up a maintenance or coming soon page. There’s much better, simpler, popular and less obnoxious options.
