• Hi – I don’t normally have any trouble with object tags, but I am trying to use the following generated by Coffeecup slideshow software and it’s not displaying properly, sees the file but looks like it is ignoring whatever instructions are contained in the XML file… Can anyone suggest any solutions or plugins that will help? Thanks.

    <object id="CC2068199" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="375" height="367" codebase="https://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="align" value="middle" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="FlashVars" value="xmlfile=https://www.site.com/file.xml" /><param name="scale" value="noscale" /><param name="salign" value="lt" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /><param name="src" value="https://www.site.com/file.swf" /><param name="name" value="CC2068199" /><param name="flashvars" value="xmlfile=https://www.site.com/file.xml" /><embed id="CC2068199" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="375" height="367" src="https://www.site.com/file.swf" name="CC2068199" bgcolor="#ffffff" salign="lt" scale="noscale" flashvars="xmlfile=https://www.site.com/file.xml" quality="high" align="middle"></embed></object>

  • Hi alangnw

I too have had problems with flash displaying in the page. It looks fine in the HTML editor, fine in the “Visual Editor” (in that we can see the coloured area) but it simply won’t display on the website. It just comes up as a white area. You can right click on that white area and it shows that flash exists – you simply can’t “see” it!

It’s an original flash file used successfully on another site…. and we’ve never had problems with inserting flash before. Just can’t understand what could be going wrong this time. I’m tearing out my hair extensions here! ??
