• For about a week now, I’ve been having this problem on my /wp-login.php page where after I log in, it just shows:

    “Object moved
This document may be found here

I am unable to log into my WordPress admin.

When I click “here”, it just redirects me back to the log in page (which returns the same Object Moved error when I try logging in again anyways).

One or two of the times it showed a “Fatal Error” message – something about memory limits but unfortunately I can’t quite remember what it said.

I’m hosting 2 WordPress accounts via Godaddy, and this is happening to both of them.

Someone please help! I am no code expert and this problem seems quite impossible. I’ve checked the other posts on this forum from users who’ve experienced the same issue, but it seems that so far no definite solution exists.

  • It may have to be with your server config – hosting. Is it Windows Hosting?
Look for the file web.config in your root directory via FTP and change it to something different like web.config.disabled

Proclave, I am having the same problem as jacquelinechen. My site is also being hosted by GoDaddy and the problem started around the same time. My site is being hosted on a Windows server.

GoDaddy’s suport pointed me toward the web.config file but were unable to help troubleshoot the code.

I renamed web.config to web.config.disabled. When I tried to get back to the admin page it gave me a 404 error.

    Any other ideas?

Update – I had GoDaddy migrate my site to a Linux server and the issues seem to be fixed.

hmmm… i have godaddy hosting too… I wonder if it is the problem?

    Hey guys,

An update from my end – talked to GoDaddy support, and they also told me to rename my web.config file to web.config.disabled.

It worked for the first couple of weeks, but now it’s happening again. I’ll try migrating my site to Linux and see if it helps, will let you guys know if it worked ??

    Thanks for the tip @jenga123!

Update: Talked to GoDaddy support again, and was also advised to move my site to Linux. Apparently, WordPress just runs better on it.

Also was informed that this error typically has to do with permalinks. Was advised to reset permalinks to the default structure, save it, then change it back to the desired structure, and save it again.

    Hope this helps.

anyone figure out how to login to edit permalinks? I do NOT use GoDaddy and am having this problem with one of my client’s sites.

I am now getting the same problem. I do use godaddy. However, if chillhouse2012 is also having the problem, then it must be broader than a single hosting issue. I can’t get inot my admin to solve problems, and my site itself is not displaying correctly.
