• I just upgraded my WordPress on https://www.tssznews.com to 2.5.

Everything looks OK and for the most part functions OK…however when I go to try and insert content–be it an Image, Video, whatever…there are no buttons on which to insert and I get page errors.

All of the page errors are Object Expected errors involving media-upload.php in the wp-admin folder. I’m pretty sure it’s this error that’s preventing me from directly inserting the content.

Anyone know how to fix this?

  • I got the same problem too. I can see, in the popup window, the media file names, but when I click the media, say an image, I get “object unexpected” error. So, no image can be added to a post.

I like the old version of 2.3.3, which enables me to browse the thumbnails of the images and makes it lot easier to locate the image that I am looking for.

The problem I am experiencing is a bit similar. When I’m writing a post and want to add an image to it, I upload it from my computer, it sets in the media library, but cannot add it to the post.

When the pop up window [media library] opens, if I clcik on SHOW the image I choose, nothing happens.

So, to be able and add a picture I do this > right click the media library > right click on photo I want to add > right click properties > highlight the url copy it and add the url location of the photo into the post. It appears.

But this is a headacke. It must be an easy way to add a photo, just like tou do in wordpress.com

Any help or comments are welcomed {I have just started my new privately hosted blogs 2.5 updated at www.remarpro.com and still missing my old wordpress.com days]

I feel your pain grhb. Same here, the 2.5 is a pain. Try Windows Live Writer. It will plug into your blog and you can draft posts and add images there with no problems. Hit publish and it will post to your blog. Useful for backup too. The posts can then be tweaked with the wordpress editor but at least the images are there.
