Object caching with APC relly slow

When i turn on the Object caching with Advance PHP Caching, it actually slows down my websites significantly.
According to pingdom tool the load time doubled.
I run the latest WP MU with the latest W3TC plugin version however this was a problem in past versions as well.
Any steps i should do to try and fix this?
