Object Cache Code via .htaccess

    The AMP plugin works best with “object cache” enabled — the newer method as opposed to the traditional built-in object cache that WordPress always had.

    Aside from downloading a cache plugin, how complex is the code to integrate into .htaccess? I don’t use a caching plugin because I implement browser caching, expiry headers and gzip compression all with basic code.

    Has there been a release of code that can be implemented the same way, without having to install and run another plugin? I searched the www.remarpro.com forums but could not find anyone talking about this particular inquiry. Thanks!

    It depends on your host and server configuration. There may or may not be anything you can do in .htaccess. Ask your host if persistent object caching like memcached or reddis is available and how it can be enabled. If your host does not offer a solution, you’ll need to use a plugin.
