    Hello,

I have this message sicne the last update:

Yoast SEO had problems creating the database tables needed to speed up your site.

Your site will continue to work normally, but won’t take full advantage of Yoast SEO.

    Show debug information
DeleteDuplicateIndexables – Error executing ‘query’ with: DELETE wyi FROM sw932_yoast_indexable wyi INNER JOIN sw932_yoast_indexable wyi2 WHERE wyi2.object_id = wyi.object_id AND wyi2.object_type = wyi.object_type AND wyi2.id < wyi.id; Reason: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction

How can I solve this? The host provider thinks it is a conflict with another plugin. Please assist.

    Thanks

  • Hi @mschuessler ,

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are having. The DeleteDuplicateIndexables error occurs when Yoast SEO plugin cannot complete the relevant MySQL query to remove the duplicate indexables objects from database and as such, it throws the relevant error. To investigate the issue, would you mind to answer and perform the following steps?

    1. Can you please reset the indexables tables and migrations by using the Yoast Test Helper plugin?

Once you install and activate the relevant plugin, please go to the Tools → Yoast Test → Yoast SEO → Reset indexables tables & migrations options to reset it.

For developers and testers, we made our internal Yoast SEO Test Helper available as a plugin. This can help you test our plugins on your staging environment and as well as for troubleshooting a feature in our plugin.

    2. If that doesn’t work for you, you can also try running the indexables analysis by using the WP-CLI commands to see whether this works for you.

Please let us know how it goes!

    Hi,

the Yost SEO TEst Helper worked – thnaks for that. On Another issue – is there any batch tool to set the primary category for a a batch of products? Thanks

@mschuessler No, we’re sorry there is not current a feature in the plugin to change the primary category in batch, but thanks for suggesting a new feature for our plugin! We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new feature request for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You can create a new issue to submit your feature request. You will need an account to create one.

    Hi,

    I opened a repository: https://github.com/marcusschussler/Yoast

    Is this being done properly?

    Thanks

    Hi @mschuessler,

Thank you for getting back to us.

We see that you created a new repository called Yoast on your own account. Please create a new feature request using this specific URL here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new where you can specify a title and then write the specific feature you want.

    Thanks!

Looks good, the only thing I would suggest is changing the title to specify what the feature request is about, meaning mention you want a feature to bulk edit primary categories. Thanks!
