O365 emails containing a URL time out

I use this plugin with O365 email on a number of sites. Very approximately 1/6 of emails fail to send for various reasons, some of which may be related to our server’s security settings.
The majority do send successfully when I click on Retry; however, any email that contains a URL will not send even with repeated retries.
