• On my menu, whenever there is a submenu I start off with a number instead of an arrow. Also the Facebook, Twitter, and G+ logos are generic.

I don’t know if it’s the theme or WP that’s generating it. It returns to normal after a few clicks.

  • Hi Bartleby (I’m a big Melville fan, too!)

I looked at the source code of your site and it’s actually using Icon Fonts for the arrows and social logos. This can often cause display problems similar to what you’re experiencing. My suggestion would be to find someone to swap out the Icon Fonts for images, such as SVG or PNG.

You can see in my screenshot here: https://i.imgur.com/GLDzafT.png that the Icon Font is using the CSS Pseudo “After:” to set the content “3” which is what your Icon Font should be displaying as an arrow.

I can’t tell you why exactly it’s happening without a thorough investigation, but I think your best bet is to find someone to swap these out for images.

    Good luck!

As the real Bartleby might say, I would prefer not to get into anything technical, but I think I know what you mean and I’ll give it a try. And thanks for the quick reply.
