Number of posts on the front page

  • Can I limit how many posts are on the front page? I only want 5 of the small boxes on the front page but I don’t want to limit the entire site to 5 posts per page.

    I edited this line in the index.php but it does not have an effect.

    ‘posts_per_page’ => 5,
