Number of Posts in Each Category Help

I’d like to have all of my blog categories listed on the sidebar of my homepage with the number of posts in each category listed right next to the category name rather than on the next line, which is currently the case.

I’m specifying in the parameters below to list as
<li>. It will list next to the category name just fine if I don’t specify <li>, but then I lose the bullets.

Any suggestions on what I need to do to specify <li> in my parameters and still get the number of posts in each category to post on the same line as each category name?
