  • Yes, loading plugins does take time, so the more plugins that you have, the slower the site will be to load. It’s pretty much impossible to say how many plugins will cause issues because there’s a lot of differnt factors that can make a difference. Everything from the way each plugin is coded, the servers file caching and memory, server processor speed, users internet connection and a lot more all come into play for the speed of your site.

The best rule of thumb is, if you don’t really need a plugin, remove it. If you do need it, then it is probably worth the extra litlte bit of processing time to load it.

Thank you very much michael.mariart, for so a nice explanation.
May I ask you one thing more.

You said that if you don’t need a plugin, then remove it.
Removing means what? Can I deactivate it or must I delete it i.e. remove it completely?

Please explain in your nice witty language….
    Thanks

Remove means ‘delete’. There’s no point having a plugin installed if you’re not going to use it. Delete it and clear up space on your server for something useful. ??
