Number of Characters Left

    We just discovered that Google likes to change its “allowed” or “ideal” number of characters for titles and meta descriptions.

    WP Meta SEO counts wrong ??
    (as of summer 2018)

    Is there a way we can edit the numbers that show up when we type?
    Or maybe change it from “still left” to “already typed”?

    Hi,

    Thanks for contacting us about the meta description length.

    Indeed it seems Google change back their mind then after they’ve announced that maybe it will be adaptative depending of the screen size. We’ve waited a bit to have more information but as the situation don’t seems to be ready to change, we’ll roll back the 170 characters limit in the next version of the plugin.
