I’m French sorry for my English…

I use Google Site Kit for one week and I’ve got an issue with numbers format
    Here are some examples :
It prints “2,1 000” but the real value is “2100”
It prints “1,6 000” but the real value is “1600” when I go on “Search Console”

I think there is a comma, space and zero issue…

I can’t find any option in WordPress where I can say how numbers must be formatted

    Hi @pwozniak89,

Thanks for getting in touch, and sharing a screenshot along with a description of what you’re encountering. If you’d like to share your Site Health information along with the following information I’d be happy to look into this further:

    1. Has this number formatting occurred on your Site Kit dashboards since first installing?
    2. Does the same occur if you temporary switch themes? You can safely mimic switching themes using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin if you wish.

Once we have the above we can provide some troubleshooting suggestions, which may include language configurations or theme/plugin configurations.

I’ve sent all information with your google forms.

I had the plugin since 5 days. And it’s the first time I use it. So I can’t say if it has always been the same…
I’ve tried twenty twenty-one theme and same issue occurs (I use momentus lite theme)

    Thanks

Thanks for the update. What’s occurring on your site seems similar to that reported previously by another user, also with the same language defined. You’ll find a related Github issue below:
    https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/2899

In your case there are a couple of things to check, which I can add to the GitHub issue before reopening should the issue remain:

    1. If you switch your defined language to Canadian French does the same occur?
    2. To try and determine whether this is specific to Site Kit do you have the thousands figure elsewhere in your wp-admin dashboard, and if so does it display correctly?

As example of where you may find large numbers in the thousands are within the primary WordPress dashboard, on your At a glance widget.

    Hi,

    With fr-ca or fr-be number are correctly formatted ! (2,2K for 2245 or 1,6K for 1557)
When I roll back to fr-fr issue occurs.

    Thanks.

And here a screenshot of my dashboard.
We can see correct formatting for WordPress information and wrong formatting for Site Kit

And here a screenshot with fr-ca

I think the problem is that the “K” symbol is replaced by ” 000″ in fr-fr

Thanks for sharing these updates. I’ve been performing some checks from a couple of our test sites and in my case I don’t encounter the same, with the thousand separator working as expected.

I’ll perform some additional testing and report back to you here with an update, most likely at some stage today. In the meantime if you have any other WordPress site with traffic it would be great if you could check for the same unusual formatting from these sites.

Thanks for your patience on this and apologies for the delay. I’ve been unable to recreate this issue on additional sites I’ve been testing with. While I discuss this with the team please do let me know if you have another WordPress site which you can test from. This may help indicate if there is anything at host level or with your environment resulting in this unusual formatting.

I’ll report back to you once I get an opportunity to discuss your case with the team.

@pwozniak89 Just to let you know that after discussing your case with the team I’ve re-opened and escalated the related GitHub issue.

While I can’t be sure this is a Site Kit specific issue specific to fr_FR a team member will review this further to determine any possible cause.

In the meantime if you do get an opportunity to check the below this may also be of use:

    1. Check does the same occur from another site on the same hosting platform
    2. Check do you see any such misformatted figures elsewhere across your site.

Feel free to subscribe to that issue for updates, or add your own comments or observations which I didn’t already include.

    Hi,

I have no other wordpress running on this server…
I tried to change locales from the ubuntu server but nothing changes.
I will try to find other places where are misformatted numbers.

    Thanks.

Great! Please do let us know if you find misformatted numbers elsewhere. One way to check would be to use another Analytics plugin temporarily, a plugin that also displays your Analytics figures with it’s own dashbord. This may help indicate if this issue is specific to Site Kit and your current environment.

    Hi @pwozniak89,

Just following up with you to check whether you’ve had an opportunity to check for any unusual formatting elsewhere on your site?

As we have the related GitHub issue open I’ll also close this support topic. Feel free to add comments to that issue or here if preferred, at which point I can add the comments to the issue.
