Nul result produced on each quiz page hit

Every time anybody visits the page with the quiz, a result with a record number, date, and time is generated on the user page whether or not the visitor completes any part of the quiz. when this happens, there are no details to view in the result column.
Is there any way to keep these empty results from being produced? Is there a way to force chained quiz not to create a record until after at least some data (such as a name or e-mail) has been entered?
I can delete the nul records, but it is a nuisance to do so.
