Before I get into it, I just want to state that the issues I describe below may be server side rather than with this plugin. I say this because I decided to switch from wpfastest cache to Litespeed cache, but *only* because my hosting provider migrated me from Apache to Litespeed. I figured I might get some extra bang by leveraging Litespeed cache premium features service available only to users on Litespeed servers.

Anyhow… my issue is with (some) automatic plugin updates being killed prematurely. I use Easy Updates Manager for this. This worked great, until the switch to Litespeed. Now, some of my plugins don’t update automatically, and so I need to hassle with updating them manually. The most common culprits seem to be Yoast and Wordfence. I have tried an .htaccess mod described in the link below. It seems to have reduced the number of failures, but it has not eliminated them.

If someone can provide an easy and relatively quick solution, I’m happy to write a glowing review.

Hi @clg87, we are trying to reproduce the issue, may I know which hosting panel and Litespeed server you are running on?

Hello, thanks for your reply. Hopefully the following is the info you’re looking for. Note, assuming you have a test machine to try to reproduce the problem, you may need to wait for a new version of Yoast or Wordfence. This has been my experience with auto update problems with my live site. My particulars:

Hosting Panel: cPanel Hosting v.3.0,(c) CPanel 2018
    Host: WHC (Web hosting Canada)
    Type: Shared hosting, php 7.2
Legacy web server: Apache, php 7.x
    Current web server: Litespeed
    Upgrade date: Sept.25, 2018
    Legacy caching plugin: wpfastestcache
    Current caching plugin: Litespeed cache
Transition date: same day as server migration from Apache to Litespeed
Attempted resolution: modification to .ht access, tried both methods outlined in https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/system-requirements/litespeed/#if-litespeed-aborts-wordfence-scans-and-updates

If you need more detailed or other info, please let me know particulars. Thank you.

Update: Yesterday I had the same issue with the “Really Simple SSL” plugin.

I will continue to update this thread with problem updates as they arise, in the hopes that this will assist with your troubleshooting. Thank you.

Also curious: Does this seems to be a litespeed plugin issue or an issue with litespeed servers?
