NovelLite is ideal for my requirements.

    Still, I’m dumb as a, ahem… post.
Think that I’ve properly configured my menu.

What I can’t seem to discover is how to, quite simply, drop an image in at the very top of the page. Just like in the theme preview with a transparent menu. Is it a header image or background image or slider?

    What am I missing?

    Hello,

The image behind the menu is a slider image. Go to the Appearance > customize > slider settings and add images there. For more info please follow our doc

    Thank you.

How do I add a single header image without it fading in and out? I think since I add it to the slider it is looking for a second image to transition to, but I just want a static single image?

Also, how do I make that image the same image that appears as you scroll down? That image is currently still the defaulted image.

    Hello @gzingraf,

If you upload single image in the customize > Slider Settings
First Slider Settings. Slider display one image only. If single image is not working please update your theme to the latest version.
    It will work.
Please elaborate your second point little more. Do you want to show same image as a section background?

    Thank You.

    Hello @mark2134,

Please don’t forget to post your valuable review. It will motivate us to improve this theme more and more ??

@themehunk – I would like the header image to be a static image. For some reason, when I only add one photo, it will still fade to black and then have the same image reappear. I have played with the slider speed, but it isn’t helping.

The second request I had was to use that same header image as the image that shows up in the light green testimonial section. As of right now, when I scroll down, the testimonial section still has the default picture of the pool with the two kids diving in the water.

EDIT: Disregard the second point. I should have looked more clearly. I found where you add the image in the testimonial section.

Not to derail from the OP but I have a question in the same area. Is there a way to make the slider image smaller? Even if I crop the photo, it expands it to whatever the default dimensions are?

I’m also curious how to make it a static image though too.

    Hello @tedkarchibald,

Novel is a section based theme that’s why slider covering full section height and width. Changing it’s dimension required lot of customization. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to provide support up to that extend.
We can help you with the existing theme features (as they are).
    I hope you understand.

    Thank You.

    Hi @themehunk,

I found a shortcut around it by increasing the slider speed to 100000. This slows it down so that it doesn’t try to transition while I’m on the page.
