notifying another blog you just added them to your Blogroll?

    i’ve had my blog up for about a month or so and i have added a lot of blogs to my blogroll. now i need to do two things

    1) notify those blogs that i have linked to then and ask them to link to me.

    2) keep track of “link backs” that are still live (aka making sure that once they link to me they don’t just delete it in 24 hours).

    i’ve been reading about something called “referral logs” but i don’t see where i have that in Word Press. would a referral log let the blogs that i link to KNOW that i have linked to them? would they then AUTOMATICALLY link to me or do i still have to go ask nice? ??
