Great plugin for new post notifications.

But how about notifications when a page is changed? And not all pages, but just specific pages?

Is that available? Or is there a hook I can use to send out something on a page update? Or is a newsletter the only way to do this?

    Thanks…Rick…

    Apologies for the delayed reply.
Kindly elaborate more on what exactly you mean to say by “page is changed”.
Do let me know your views on the same.

The first ‘publish’ of the post will cause the emails to be sent out. Any further edit/publish of the post will not cause a notification to be sent to the subscriber.

But what if there is a major change to the post? Or even a change in the URL? How will the subscriber know?

Perhaps a checkbox (normally off) to allow a re-publish of the post to cause a notification to be sent. This checkbox should always be disabled on each post edit page load. Perhaps even an additional ‘publish and send notification’ button next to the standard ‘publish’ button.

    Hello,

Just as a seed for thought, for now to keep you in control of the notification that are issued just save the published post as draft and then re-publish and it will send out the notification again.

    Yes, that is an option.

But consider the situation that an old post needs important information (safety notice, erroneous info in the original post, new information pertinent to the post) added after publishing. How do you notify everyone about that?

A ‘publish and notify’ button would solve that problem.

Yes that I understood and yes it would be nice. I did enquire about this as an feature last year.
You just have to consider acidental triggering unless there is a double confirmation that comes with it. Lets hope it is considered.
