we are setting up a blog for Telluride CO and the owner is worried to a degree. we have set the default role as author and he wants to know if there is a way we can set it to notify us of posts and we can read and approve them before they are allowed to go live (much the same way you can hold comments for approval)

  • Set them as contributor – not author.
WP 2.3 has the native feature to notify the admin about posts submitted for review.

i did that and have had a contributor post but cant find a way to publish it, i can only read it from manage on the dashboard, what am i missing?

Only the admin can publish it – obviously, by clicking the “Publish” button.

moshu: Do I have to do anything as an admin in order to be able to be notified when contributors have posts for review?
Because I don’t get any emails about pending reviews.

I too would like to have this. I just installed 2.5 and can not find this option. I do not get any kind of Notification that a new post has been made.
