“Notify me of follow-up replies via email” not working

  • I am not being notified when a reply to my post appears. For example, I have checked the box “Notify me of follow-up replies via email” on the thread “List view collapses when page is refreshed” (link in “Link to the page you need help with” box). When a reply was posted, I did not receive an email apprising me of that. I have looked in my inbox and junk mail folders and found no notification of the reply.

    The more details you can provide, the likelier you are to get a solution/suggestion from someone:
    – Are you using a plugin for this feature? Yes? What’s the full name of this plugin? Where did you acquire it?
    – Or, is this a feature of your active theme? Yes? What’s the full name of this theme? Where did you acquire it?

    That happens sometimes. Mostly because of your mail server, but not necessarily. I don’t know the technical details, but it happened to me before and it fixed itself for the next replies, in a few hours. If you’re interested in a certain topic you opened and you are concerned you’re not getting mails, you can always check the opened topic. I know it’s not ideal, but it’s practical.

    Also, another possible scenario is that the reply ended in the spam queue by our automatic systems and was later manually approved – that is a case when an email is not sent. It’s a known bug that will be fixed in the future. Same solution – check the topic every now and then if the subject is important to you.

    Your email is at yahoo and, unfortunately, yahoo tends to block mail from www.remarpro.com. They system admins here have talked to them about it and, unfortunately, it appears that Yahoo doesn’t much care. Do you have another email address you could use for your wp.org account?

    Yes, I can use a different email address. Thanks for letting me know of this problem with yahoo.
