Notifications with type of products

    At a webshop I’m looking for the easiest solution to the following problem:

    We currently have two types of products (Normal and online only). The latter requires a different way of working when entering the orders into our ERP. Now we want it to be clear in the order overview what kind of product it is. Is this an easy solution for preferably without development only configuration. (plugin is also allowed).

    You can use the extension Advanced Notifications – this allows you to send emails to any address of your choice when an order has been placed for a product in a specific category, or with a specific shipping class assigned to it.

    We also have the extension Admin Custom Order Fields which could work well here – it provides a way to make notes on the order after it has been placed (for instance, with warehouse instructions).

    Alternatively you could use the extension WooCommerce After The Order to send specific instructions to the store manager after the order has been placed. This can be configured at store level, or on individual products.

    However, neither of these plugins place order notes or notifications automatically out-of-the-box for virtual products only. This would likely require custom coding to automate, so if an email notification would work for you, then Advanced Notifications may be a better choice since it allows specific category and class triggers.
