• Hi ya,
So I installed Notifications a few months back. I think I was trying to solve a situation where people couldn’t get emails when they were requesting password resets.

But what I didn’t notice is that it completely replaced the email “From” address, and “Person” fields for most of the emails leaving my server.

This was completely unexpected and undocumented, as far as I can see.

I was only expecting it to use those settings for triggers it activated.

I can only assume this is a bug, since replacing ALL our outgoing mail headers is unacceptable.

    Cheers,
    Norm

    Additional to this.

If I activate the plugin, but turn off all the carriers, it STILL takes over all the Reply settings, replacing them with whatever is in the Email Carrier settings.

This has to be a bug, and a serious one…

    Hi Norman,

unfortunately, in WordPress, email From headers are global.

A few versions back we added the email headers setting in the plugin. Maybe this one took priority.

There are other plugins that I use that successfully set the reply to address and change the name the mail is being sent to. But only for their tasks.

That plugin works fine without Notifications enabled.

But when Notifications is enabled, it replaces the information from that plug in with its own.

So somewhere in the stack, Notifications is replacing the information, not just setting a default.
