Notifications to group members

  • I am new to WordPress. I am administrator for a web site that is new. On the site we have several private groups. I would like each member of each private group to be able to choose to receive notification when any message or comment is posted just to the group to which they belong. I mean all comments posted to the group, not just responses to comments made by one particular group member. I have looked at plugins that are available to install but with my limited knowledge I can’t determine if any of them give me what I am looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Groups aren’t a built-in WordPress feature. What plugin are you using for that? Is it BuddyPress, or something else?

    Hi James,
    Wordpress was installed by another person and yes, BuddyPress, was one of the plugins he installed. I did not realize that groups was not a built-in feature of WordPress. I have a lot to learn. Is there a help forum for BuddyPress I should be going to?
